Creative Mornings was initiated Tina Roth Eisenberg in New York in 2008. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event was to be free of charge and open to anyone. Today, in cities all over the world volunteer hosts organize Creative Mornings that celebrate local creative talent and promote an open space for like-minded individuals.

Julia Sysmäläinen’s presentation at Creative Mornings was about “Designing Buddhism” – her work at the “Berzin Archives Foundation” Berlin as a design strategist for studybuddhism.com. Studybuddhism.com is an educational platform for anyone interested in Buddhist thought and practice. Its aim is to share Buddhist methods for dealing with everyday life situations in a way that promotes happiness, balancedness and productivity. During the talk Julia’s typefaces helped out with quotes providing insight into the matter.
