As its name implies FreshBooks Script was exclusively developed for the Toronto-based cloud accounting company FreshBooks. It was to provide a lighthearted contrast to Franklin Gothic, the primary typeface in the FreshBooks corporate identity. While Franklin Gothic can be viewed the brand voice, FreshBooks Script plays the role of the human/customer voice. Its handwritten informality plays down the earnest professionalism of Franklin Gothic, makes it approachable and friendly. At the same time it is aspirational and modern.
FreshBooks Script is an OpenType typeface containing a rich set of ligatures and alternates enhancing a natural look and feel. Its primary use is on the web, but it has also made a great impression in FreshBooks’ TV advertising on YouTube.
