Discussion of FF Mister K in Erik Spiekermann’s book “Stop Stealing Sheep”

Mister K as a style sample for script fonts

In the latest edition of his best-selling handbook on typography “Stop Stealing Sheep” design expert Erik Spiekermann includes an update on web typography and new tendencies in type design.

Among these is the conversion of natural handwriting into connected script fonts – nowadays possible thanks to OpenType coding and fonts with thousands of alternate glyphs and ligatures.

As an example Spiekermann presents FF Mister K and compares it with original handwriting by Franz Kafka.
